14th Suffolk Classic Motorcycle Show

Equipped with faithful Box Brownie, Blue Miller ventures to Sudbury, the town of Thomas Gainsborough and Jack Bruce.

The Suffolk Classic Motorcycle Show seems to be one of those events which flies under the radar. Despite being from Suffolk – albeit the other side of the county

– it was not a show with which I was familiar and even having now visited I don’t know too much more about it. What little I could glean is that it’s held by the Monks Eleigh Bygones Collectors’ Club and is organised by a gentleman called John Walker – a chap who, incidentally, I do know of as he owns a 1961 Chevy Apache truck.

The show was held at a small business park on the edge of the town of Sudbury and, by late morning, had taken over the car park, surrounding the few cars that had been inconsiderate enough not to move. (It’s only one day a year, folks!) With just a quid to get in and coffee, doughnuts and fabulous cakes provided by the Dinky Treats shop and trailer, it was an ideal way to spend a couple of hours on a spring Sunday.
