The Beezumph 29 Rally

-

Following a hiatus of two years, the Trident and Rocket 3 Owners Club will be staging its 29th trackbased Beezumph Rally at Cadwell Park, Lincolnshire on July 29-30 this year.

This year’s event will be themed around prototypes which are of particular interest to the club. In fact, the TR3OC recently purchased one of the last prototype pushrod-engined Norton Triumph International triple engines from the late Bill Crosby of the London Motorcycle Museum.

The T180 was intended to be a replacement for the T160 750 Trident and, based upon the only known road-going T180 to be built by Norton Triumph International (and tested by Bike magazine in 1979), the TR3OC is building a recreation of how the machine might have looked had it reached production.

The TR3OC has also spent countless hours filming the recollections and stories of those who worked at BSA and Triumph, as well as those who fettled and raced triples. These interviews, conducted by Mick Duckworth, have been distilled into several films which will be premiered at Beezumph 29, while many of those who feature in the videos will also be present at the event.

There will also be the usual, muchloved attractions of a Beezumph Rally, including camping, a rideout, track sessions, bike shows and live music. This year’s guest speaker is Norman Hyde, who needs no introduction and who will, in keeping with the theme of the rally, be speaking about prototypes. Tickets are available from www.beezumph.com.
