In praise of the RV
It was a great read from Pete Kelly about the Morecambe Bay crossing on an RV125 (April issue) and was of real interest to me as I’ve owned an RV from 1973 (although I have had many other bikes).
My current one was owned by George Best and bought for his chauffeur. It originally had a number one registration number and a friend purchased it for the plate. It’s also in yellow with just over 2000 miles from new. My wife Kay took her test on an RV and went out the next week and bought a 1340cc Softail Harley which she rode to the TT the week after – well, they both have fat tyres. One thing I change is the gearing to make road riding more pleasant. OBM gets better every month. Barry Lester
