The National Speedway Museum
Yesterday I visited the National Speedway Museum at Broxbourne and it is a very interesting collection of speedway motorcycles. This included a tribute to multiple champion Ivan Mauger, while the volunteers running the museum have interesting stories to tell the visitors.
Highly recommended. David Dearle
It’s been a while since we ventured out of the OBM Shed to
Hertfordshire, but we can vouch for the excellence of the National Speedway Museum. For those of you that don’t know, it’s in the grounds of the Paradise Wildlife Park which might seem like an odd combination, but both are owned by former Swindon, Rye House and Hackney rider Pete Sampson. While the wildlife park is open (and they have otters – we love otters!) seven days a week, the National Speedway Museum is staffed, as Mr Dearle says, by volunteers and only opens Friday to Sunday.
