Full steam ahead for Cadwell Sidecar Revival
With the 2022 season already in full swing, the British Sidecar Championship is shaping up to be a very interesting affair. Round four takes place at the well-established Cadwell Park Sidecar Revival, which will also see many former world champions appearing in person.
After the last two years, we anticipate that there will be a carnival atmosphere in Lincolnshire for the return on August 6-7 of this event which celebrates the sport of sidecar racing in all its forms across several decades. Molson Group teams form the main event with two title races, along with the FSRA F2s battling for their championship.
Bemsee members will also enjoy solo races to complement the three-wheeled action. Meanwhile the Camathias Cup outfits are always great value, bringing an International and historic flavour, and they are bolstered by the thundering BEARS four-strokes.
Expect also to see GP legend two-stroke solos from an era when the Yamaha TZ was dominant in all its various capacities.
This festival of nostalgia brings together some rare and even unique racing machines from the sidecar world, along with, in many cases, the legendary men and women who raced them in period. These characters from yesteryear are only too pleased to talk about their exploits in world championship sidecar racing as they made history along the way.
Special parade laps will offer the sights, sounds and smell of these incredible machines, transporting the spectators back to an era when as many as six classes of solos and the sidecar class all featured on a typical Grand Prix weekend.
Those days are long gone, but you can revisit the period at the sidecar revival weekend at Cadwell Park near Louth in Lincolnshire. There are camping facilities for the weekend, and a party on Saturday night with food, beverages and live music on tap.
