So many of us have done it – stored all sorts of noxious liquids in the nearest container to hand. (If you ever visit the OBM Shed and are offered a cup of tea it’s wise to politely refuse).

Now, thanks to Hünersdorff, there’s no excuse for filling your wife’s best roasting trays with oil. The Germany company makes high quality fuel bottles, oil containers and no-spill nozzles which take the mess – and risk – out of dealing with fluids in the workshop and on the road.

Made in Germany to the stringent DIN EN ISO 9001 standard, all of its containers and nozzles are made from HDPE (High Density Polyethylene), which is impervious to chemicals, water, solvents, acids and detergents (it’s even food safe) so they are completely reliable.

The range includes the Oil Drain Can (£24). This is a must for any workshop and makes oil changes much less messy. When you’re finished, it can be sealed up and taken straight to a local oil collection point with no need to decant into a separate container. The Bike Filler (£24) makes filling with fuel much safer. Designed to fit on to all conventional fuel canisters, it pushes down to pour and automatically stops (like the nozzles used by race teams) so there’s no risk of sloshing petrol over paintwork or a hot engine. Fuel Friends (from £17) are handy 1.0 and 1.5 litre containers that are compact enough to be stashed in or strapped to luggage, ideal if you have a machine with a tiny tank or a greedy appetite for fuel.

On an environmental note, HDPE can be made from entirely recycled material and is 100% recyclable at the end of its working life.
