Indian moves into Kensington High Street

-

In the 21st century, it seems that we no longer have motorcycle dealers, we have Brand Experience Centres. Or at least we do in the eyes of Indian Motorcycle UK which has opened a very fancy shop on London’s prestigious Kensington High Street.

Some of you will recognise the site of the new Indian store for it was for many years the home of the Bristol Car Company; the basement underneath, now part of the Indian facility, was the sole preserve of

Bristol owner Tony Crook and there was stored effectively the entire history of Bristol, with everything from factory dispatch notes for each of the cars made between 1948 and 2011, when the company went bust, to hand-drawn illustrations of new models, like the prototype wood-bodied 400. All of that history went to auction two years ago, leaving the way clear for a new automotive manufacturer to move into the space.

That’s just what Indian has done, using the space to display the complete range of Indian motorcycles as well as accessories and clothing. The venture is a partnership with Krazy Horse whose reputation for building custom motorcycles and having a good time is legendary. The Indian Motorcycle London Brand Experience Centre can be found at 368-370 Kensington High Street, London, W14 8NL. For opening hours call 0203 007 1666 or see www.indianmotorcyclelondon.co.uk for details.
