To OBE or not to OBE

I was amused by Maurice Arden’s letter in OBM446 and the confusion caused by the ‘OBE’ and ‘OBM’ he mentioned. During my years as a motorsport commentator I worked quite often with the late Allan Robinson MBE. If anybody got near to asking him why he got the recognition he would quickly say “it only means Motor Bike Enthusiast”, such was his modesty.
