Old Bike Mart

A photo is worth a thousand words

- Frank Lloyd, Wrexham

Further to John Edward’s letter in the September issue of Old Bike Mart, he’s correct that Mike Hailwood was riding an MV. As they say, a photograph is worth a thousand words. All the photos you see here were taken at Brandish during the 1965 Senior. The first was taken prior to the incident, and the second and third on a later lap. All the accident damage is on the left side but the screen is obviously missing.

I’m not sure about the red nose. It could have been bloodied due to an early incident. It’s certainly less obvious in the later shot.
