Yet more trafficator talk

- Stephen Burwell

With reference to Scott Moore’s query regarding trafficators on the door pillar of the Triumph 2.5PI, I think what he is referring to is the very small lamp low down on the pillar. It is difficult to see on the photograph, but I think it is what was referred to as a side repeater. These lights were starting to be fitted as standard on some cars at about this period of time. Working as an auto electrician at this time, I did fit a few as accessories to various cars. There is some confusion in

Scott’s use of the word ‘trafficator’. Trafficators are the semaphore-type illuminated arms that popped out from the door pillar or sometimes from a box fitted onto the vehicle body.
