The effect of the Gin and Tonic Line
Being of a certain age, I would like to exchange my excellent Suzuki 650 V-Strom for a 200408 Honda CBF500 which is a lot lighter than the V-Strom but has a reasonable performance suited to an older rider. (I have ridden the more modern Hondas and find them uncomfortable). This is to complement the 1959 BMW in the shed.
Interestingly, there are very few CBF500s for sale south of the Gin and Tonic Line (Thames Estuary to Bristol Channel, south of which the inhabitants drink the aforesaid concoction). Can any readers tell me if there was a historical sales pattern in the Noughties which accounts for this bias towards this model Honda being much favoured in the Midlands and the north of GB? Perhaps I need to take a week’s holiday to the north of the G&T line and hunt one down?
I can reassure your readers that, in spite of living south of the G&T line, my preferred beverage is a pint of real ale, NOT chilled!
