That’s where the spoon went!

Ted’s Cafe – so that’s where the spoon went! (Readers’ Tales, OBM446.) I remember it well – we would take our girlfriends home then down to Ted’s Cafe, drink his tea made from the surrounding mud (no spoon of course) and then blast down to Southend-on-Sea via the A406 and A13, mix it with a new crowd called Mods, throttle it back to Ted’s for another cup of mud, no cars on the road – just the occasional policeman on his noddy bike. Ah, good times.
