Community Link Foundation

- BY NICOLA KENYON visiternews@southportvisiter.co.uk

THROUGHOUT the year, the Community Link Foundation holds a wide range of events, from golf days to Christmas balls.

And a lot of the time, people hold events on our behalf – these include everything from cake sales to farmers markets to quiz nights.

In order to help these events be a success, they often include a raffle to boost the funds, and to allow people to go home with a great prize.

What we need now is help gathering some prizes as we have some fabulous events coming up, and we would really like to have some fantastic items to give away.

If you would be able to help, we’d love to hear from you. We’d be grateful of anything that you have to give – from a voucher to a hamper.

We have been able to give out grants to some amazing organisations and we have only been able to do this because of the generous fundraising that has been held for us, and that includes raffles that have been held at these events.

We’d also like to hear from anyone who would like to hold a fundraising event for us. On our website, www.clfoundation.co.uk, there is a link to our Virgin Money site. Not only can you donate directly to Community Link through that site but it gives tons of ideas of events and activities that you can do for us. It also gives the option to set up a monthly donation to CLF.

There is a Personal Challenge section that gives ideas including grow a beard, a sponsored silence, losing weight or doing a triathlon. Or of course, you can decide on your own activity, and we would be able to support you with your plans.

There is a special occasion section that includes making a donation instead of getting birthday presents, or donating as a New Year’s resolution.

Enda Rylands, chairman of Community Link Foundation, said: “We would love people to really get behind us in the next few months and help us with fundraising for people and organisations in this area who are in need of help.

“We can only continue to support the local community, with help from the people within it.”
