Masked thugs break into children’s nursery
Staff left shocked as thieves leave trail of destruction
TERRIFYING pictures have emerged of a gang trying to break into a Parbold nursery with hammers and other tools.
The Nursery on The Hill in Parbold was targeted by three masked men despite there being nothing of value left on the premises overnight.
Staff at the nursery have been left upset and angry and believe if the gang had gained access they would have destroyed the nursery.
Manager Roz Darlington said: “When we checked the CCTV we were shocked and incredibly angry. All we have are children’s toys.”
THESE pictures show the moment a gang of masked thugs tried to break into a Parbold nursery, leaving staff shocked and upset.
The attempted break-in took place at The Nursery on the Hill, in Parbold, with the would-be thieves leaving a trail of destruction in their wake.
Staff at the nursery were left bewildered by the hammer-wielding gang’s actions, as they say there is nothing of value on the premises.
Manager Roz Darlington said: “I came in on the Monday morning and saw the front door damaged and the side gate open, there were scuff marks on the door and you could clearly tell someone had tried to break in.
“When we checked the CCTV, we were shocked and incredibly angry, as we saw the three men try to get into the nursery, kicking the door and trying to pull the hinges off.
“We are a nursery, there is nothing of any value in the nursery other than things that are precious to our little people.
“We’re in the middle of nowhere, so the attack was clearly targeted.
“They had ski masks and hammers and I’m convinced if they had gained access they would have smashed everything up, which makes me very angry.
“We’ve spent 12 months renovating and redecorating the nursery and for it to be ruined in just a matter of hours would have been very upsetting.”
The attempted break-in took place just after midnight on July 31 at the nursery, on Parbold Hill, in West Lancashire.
Nursery staff have had to repair the door, and check that all their other security measures are in place after the attack.
Despite the gang wearing ski masks, on some shots their faces are clearly visible and staff are hoping someone will recognise the culprits and report them.
Police have been handed the images and have launched an investigation, with an appeal for anyone with information to come forward.
No arrests have been made and anyone with information about the attempted break-in or the CCTV images is asked to contact the force quoting reference number LC/20160801/0850/. alternatively you can contact crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
