Put a tin out – and get it boxed off!

-

THE tradition of the charity collection box goes back an amazingly long way – more than 1,000 years.

It has a rich history (pardon the pun!) and has grown to be such a common sight in our lives that a lot of us don’t really think twice about them.

It’s just a simple way for us to support a good cause and empty our jangling purses and wallets.

But you may be amazed at the difference those little boxes at the till make.

The beauty of them is that individually, it is really easy for us just to give a little change, yet with all of us together it’s truly wonderful how much it adds up.

Last year alone, collection boxes (or tins) for Queenscourt Hospice raised a fantastic total of £9,198.27.

This wonderful amount of money has gone directly to your local community, providing specialist care, support, comfort and reassurance to more than 750 people both in the hospice and in their own homes.

We would like to sincerely thank everyone who made this possible – our wonderful friends in the local community who have found a spot for a Queenscourt box in their business, and every single person who kindly popped their change in.

It may have seemed like a small gesture at the time, forgotten even before reaching the door, but to the patients and families we care for it made a real difference.

If you’d like to be a part of this – maybe you have a shop, café, garage or pub that can offer a spot for a collection box – please just let the fundraising team know.

The whole process is really simple. We will happily drop it off to you and all you need to do is place it somewhere visible and watch the coins roll in.

Once your customers and staff have filled it, just let us know and we will pick it up and replace it with a nice new one.

The money you raise will be counted by our friendly finance team and we’ll send you a thank you letter to let you know how much you raised.

In supporting Queenscourt Hospice you will be part of something really special; a team of people who are striving every day to help our local community.
