COMMUNITY Link Foundation has been able to help some great causes recently and we would love to hear from people who can help us with fundraising in the coming months.
In the past few months alone, we have been able to help individuals, community groups and organisations who have needed a helping hand with funding, whether that’s been for a life changing operation, to buy some audio books, or to provide a dinner for the homeless.
We have only been able to help because of the generosity of fundraisers and supporters and we would like to hear from anyone else who is up for a challenge.
Vicky Simpson, reservations manager at the Ramada Plaza Hotel, is running the Paris Marathon on April 9 to raise money for us.
After months of gruelling training, Vicky is taking part in the marathon on our behalf so we can continue to help people and organisations in the community.
While not everyone is able to do a marathon, we would like to encourage other people to consider fundraising.
Over the past couple of years we have had people hold all sorts of fundraising events and sponsored activities for us; ranging from quiz nights to cake sales.
On our website, www.clfoundation.co.uk, there is a link to a Virgin Money site. You can donate directly to CLF through that site but it also gives tons of ideas of events and activities that you can do for us.
There is a Personal Challenge section that gives ideas including everything from growing a beard to doing a triathlon, a sponsored silence or losing weight. Or of course, you can decide on your own activity, and we would be able to support you with your plans.
There is a special occasion section that includes making a donation to CLF instead of getting birthday presents, or donating a monthly amount.
Enda Rylands, chairman of Community Link Foundation, said: “We would love to hear from people who would like to plan some fundraising activity for us and we will help them to plan it and support them.
“The more people that we have helping us to raise money, the more organisations and people we can help in the local community. We are very grateful for all the support that we get.”
