I used to eat enough for a family of FOUR – but just look at me now!

AN ORMSKIRK student who used to eat enough to feed a family of four, has shed a whopping seven stone.

Hayden Robinson, a student at Edge Hill University, ballooned to 19st by feasting on whole sponge cakes, tins of eight hotdogs, blocks of cheese and takeaways.

In one morning he could polish off: two bowls of cereal, a full box of cakes, a whole sponge cake, a tin of eight hot dogs, six Magnums, half a block of cheese, chocolate, peanut butter and cheese spread sandwiches, salami, tea, coffee or hot chocolate with 5 teaspoons of sugar, bread, chicken fillets with chips, ravioli, three pots of Muller yogurt or Muller rice.

He said: “In one day I could easily eat enough for a whole family and even then I’d top it up with takeaways. It shocks me now when I think that I could eat so much.

“I can remember trying to be really good and organised and get all my food shopping to spread out for the month but within a week it would all be gone.”

He added: “I would buy outside of my shopping too, with things like McDonald’s and KFC which would cost up to £20 daily.

“At one point I can remember buying a bucket of KFC on a daily basis - a terrible move.”

It was not long before Hayden’s eating habits took a toll on his health.

The 24-year-old from Liverpool said: “I would feel sluggish and upset, even angry and irritable. I became depressed and had no energy.”

He said he has “always been big” and struggled with anxiety and paranoia through school and college from bullying.

But it was in his third year of university in Aberystwyth, studying film and TV, that he managed to top the scales at 19st 3lbs.

It was at that point, in June 2015, he realised it was time to change.

After seeing his mum get in shape after joining WeightWatchers, Hayden, decided to follow suit and in just over a year he reached his goal of 12st.

He said: “I am so proud of myself – I haven’t looked back since.

“I am stronger and fitter through sensible eating and regular exercise, but I am more confident too, and have the self-assurance now to focus myself and push myself.

“For someone who was once so anxious and reluctant, it seems amazing to look at my photos and see someone beaming back, looking so positive and outgoing.

“While it might look like I’m showing off, I just want people to see how happy I am.”
