Gallery set for exciting few weeks
DON’T miss a programme of exciting events taking place at the Chapel Gallery in Ormskirk over the next few weeks.
From Saturday, April 1 to Saturday, May 6, visitors can enjoy the prestigious international Illustration Awards Exhibition from The Association of Illustrators. This exhibition will feature work from some of the best illustrators in the United Kingdom.
The Chapel Gallery is the only venue in the North to host this touring show which originates in Somerset House, London.
The display features work from the very best illustrators and designers from across the globe, including Levante Szabo who designed the front cover of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) Film Awards brochure.
Dave Tilleray, Director of Leisure and Wellbeing, said: “We are really pleased to welcome the international Illustration Awards Exhibition from The Association of Illustrators to the Chapel Gallery.
“This prestigious event is one of a number of exciting Gallery events over the next few weeks so come and take a look.”
Back by popular demand, The Reading Room book swap library will be found in the main gallery space.
With plenty of books provided by Waterstones, Ormskirk, you can bring a book and swap it for another, or take a seat and read at the gallery for a while.
The opening event takes place on Saturday, April 1.
People can visit to enjoy free, family friendly activities.
Creative Easter fun begins on Tuesday, April 4 with create a Bunny Box.

Spring into Spring Box, Tuesday, April 11.
Super Hero Bunny Masks. Thursday, April 13.
Each workshop is suitable for children aged five and over and will be accompanied by plenty of games and creative activities for all ages.
The workshops cost £2 per child per session (adults free) and there are morning and afternoon sessions to choose from.
As a special treat for the holidays the performance ‘Amazing Cardboard Carnival’, by Lempen Puppets, will take place on Saturday, April 15 with performances at 11am and 2pm. This is an extraordinary puppet show, where the characters are created as the story unfolds!
Tickets are £4 for individuals and £15 for a family ticket.
