AGENEROUS Skelmersdale man donated a brand new iPad to a three-year-old girl – and it was delivered by her TV favourite.

Lola Ward received a special delivery from her favourite Paw Patrol character.

Lola, from Skelmersdale, was born with a rare condition known as MowatWilson syndrome.

As a result of the syndrome, the threeyear-old was born without a spleen, has holes in her heart and heart valves, cysts on her kidneys and uplifted earlobes.

She also suffers from Hurshprungs disease, and will have to have her colon removed later this year.

Her special present came after Carl Eaton, manager of the Skem Men-Aces, decided to host a 24-hour charity football game in her name.

Carl, 54, said: “I met Lola for the first time only recently, and she instantly melted my heart. She is an absolute bundle of joy.”

He launched a campaign on social media to raise money to buy an iPad for Lola as she has a love for visuals.

In response to Carl’s appeal, Edmund Miller, managing director of Your Protection Ltd, in Skelmersdale, bought an iPad and delivered it to Lola.

Edmund, 43, said: “I have children myself and I wanted to give Lola something that she could enjoy, so me and all the team at Your Protection Ltd got the iPad for Lola, although, she was more happy about who delivered it to be honest!

“We borrowed a costume from Circus Play and I got my 15-year-old son to dress up as a character from Paw Patrol to make it more special. Her little face lit up.”

The three-year-old is a huge fan of Paw Patrol and she was excited to receive the gift from her favourite character.

Her dad, Desmond, 39, said: “Lola was really overjoyed by the gift, and she has been using it ever since. Her older sister has downloaded sensory apps and already it is making her reach out to touch the screen.

“I couldn’t say thank you enough to Edmund, she is over the moon, and so are we.”

Carl hopes this is just the beginning of the help that the Skelmersdale community can offer to Lola.

He said: “This is just the beginning and we plan to do much more for her and obviously we are doing the 24-hour football match to raise funds for her as well.”

The 24-hour match will be on September 9-10 at Skelmersdale College.
