Mayoral Briefings with Cllr Neil Furey

-

ON FRIDAY, July 21 my wife and I attended Wetherspoon’s in Ormskirk to unveil the new Gingerbread model in readiness for the Gingerbread Festival in Ormskirk on Saturday, July 29.

I’m sure everyone is looking forward to this event and I trust this will bring many more visitors into Ormskirk.

Afterwards we attended the Chapel Gallery for an exhibition opening and prize-giving ceremony.

The gallery was packed with people looking at the artwork and the standard was very high.

Well done to everyone who exhibited work and to Chapel Gallery for providing a very enjoyable evening.

On Saturday I attended an Armed Forces Fun Weekend at Blaguegate Fields, Skelmersdale.

This was organised by Skelmersdale Veterans Association.

There were many different military vehicles on display as well as other military equipment.

There was also a large number of stalls and activities for families to enjoy.

Well done to the organisers and it was great to see such events being held in Skelmersdale.

In the afternoon, my wife and I attended the Green Fayre at Beacon Country Park.

We joined large crowds at the fayre to see many stalls and displays showing off various crafts and products.

There was plenty for families to do and enjoy, including live music, fairground rides, rock climbing, plus food and drink.

This event is growing each year and is very popular.

Well done to West Lancashire Borough Council for providing this free event, and to the park rangers for all their hard work in organising it.
