Record breaker
DESPITE suffering from a chest infection during the week, Kirsty Longley took part in the Stockport 10 miler.
She adopted a very relaxed atmosphere to the race and with no watch, decided to enjoy the freedom of running without being competitive.
On a course renowned for two steep climbs and a mud field in the middle, her relaxed approach certainly paid dividends when she finished first lady and 23rd overall.
What was more surprising, was that her time of 59.13 min not only shattered the club record by more than two minutes, but it also put her top of the Run Britain 40+ rankings and ahead of GB international Helen Clitheroe.
