Westminster attack survivor takes campaign to European Commission
AN EDGE Hill student who was caught up in last year’s Westminster attack while on a field trip has presented his campaign for better support for victims and survivors of terrorism to high profile figures at the European Commission (EC).
Third year history with politics student Travis Frain travelled to Brussels to give a speech in the European Commission in front of two EU Commissioners, the special advisor to Jean-Claude Juncker, and ministers from member states.
Testimonies from other victims and support organisations throughout Europe were also heard and a seminar discussing the specific issue of compensation for victims was held.
Sir Julian King, the EU Commissioner for the Security Union also agreed to meet with Travis privately following the event, where he was able to express some of these issues on a one-to-one basis.
