Two in hospital after bus and car collide
TWO people were taken to hospital after their car collided with a doubledecker bus, leaving them trapped in the vehicle.
The incident took place on Shore Road, in Hesketh Bank, on Thursday, April 26.
The crash, which happened at approximately 9.20pm, involved a black Alfa Romeo and the double decker bus.
It is believe the collision was head-on, and occurred as the vehicles met along a narrow road.
In response to the accident, two Lancashire Fire and Rescue fire engines, which were from Penwortham and Tarleton, attended the scene.
The firefighters used cutting equipment to release two people – a male driver and female passenger – from the vehicle.
An ambulance and a rapid response vehicle from North West Ambulence Service also attended the scene.
They took the two people from the car to Southport and Formby District Hospital.
Their injuries were described as not being “major trauma” by the ambulance service.
Lancashire police are investigating the incident and anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 quoting 1500 of April 26, 2018.
