A SKELMERSDALE man accused of conspiring to murder Aigburth shooting victim Blake Brown appeared in court alongside two other men.

Mr Brown, 30, was shot in the head in a street attack in Southwood Road, near St Michael’s train station in Liverpool, on October 24, 2016.

He was pronounced dead at 11pm – just 40 minutes after being found by paramedics with gunshot wounds to his head, thigh and buttock.

Lee Blowes was arrested after emergency services were called to a crash, involving two cars and a van, in Clubmoor, Liverpool, on Wednesday, July 18.

Three people were injured in the incident, on Queens Drive, near the junction with Townsend Lane, at about 4.20pm.

Police said they arrested two people in connection with Mr Brown’s death, Blowes and a 37-year-old woman from Fazakerley.

Blowes, of Melbreck, Skelmersdale, was charged with conspiracy to murder and appeared at Liverpool Crown Court.

The 31-year-old appeared on a video link from HMP Liverpool during a short hearing, when two other men – William and Joseph Hodgson – appeared.

None of the defendants entered a plea to the charges against them and will next appear for a plea and trial preparation hearing on August 20.

Judge David Aubrey, QC, remanded Blowes in custody and the Hodgsons on bail.
