Frank film fundraiser should be a safe bet
PEOPLE are being invited to enjoy a casino fundraiser for a locally funded and filmed musical movie.
Perfectly Frank is a musical being filmed in various locations in Southport, beginning in June.
Locations for filming so far have included Southport Pier, Hesketh Park and Wesley Street.
Now Perfectly Frank is hosting a casino fundraiser in the Ramada Plaza Hotel on The Promenade in Southport on Saturday, November 3 and producers are looking for businesses or local residents to get involved in the following ways:
Buy a VIP table. Tables cost £600 and seat 10 people, you will be named as a sponsor of the event and promoted on our social media. In additions you will also receive a complimentary bottle of bubbly and 10 limited edition perfectly Frank souvenir booklets signed by the cast and director.
Buy a corporate table. Tables cost £500 seat 10 people and buyers will be named as a sponsor of the event and promoted on social media.
Sponsor a table and have it named after you, money printed with your logo and a free bottle of bubbly – £200.
Donate prizes / services for either a raffle prize or silent auction.
Dig out your best outfit and join the cast and crew for a three-course meal, entertainment and dancing, while raising money to get the film edited.
Tickets are £50 each and will also include a welcome drink on arrival, casino with cash prize for the winner, performances of songs from the film, performances from leading lady, Lily, played by Daisy Gill, performances from the show’s Grandad (David Knopov), a silent auction, and much more.
Hundreds of Southport residents have already flocked to locations around the town to showcase their talent and take part in the film.
Perfectly Frank tells the story of 18-year-old Frank, who suffers from agoraphobia and social isolation. He has been raised by his grandad and they regularly enjoy 1950s and ’60s musicals together.
He faces a number of challenges and can only leave the house when holding his grandad’s hand. But when his grandad becomes ill, he has no choice but to leave the house alone.
Producers say that it is filmed through Frank’s eyes, allowing the audience to “see the world in a beautiful, magical and musical way.”
Luke Rufo, a producer for ITV, wrote the script and is directing the film.
Luke, who lives in Liverpool, is passionate about the musical as the character of the grandad is loosely based on his own grandad.
He is working alongside his producer wife, Klare.
She said: “We chose Southport as the location for our film because we got such a good reception from local people and business owners.
“We had already tried areas in Liverpool and we felt that Southport was the perfect destination.
“It fits with our film as well, which is very traditional and has a 1950s theme.”
The film has been funded by Klare and Luke, who have spent around £5,500 of their savings on the production so far. All the cast and crew are donating their time and talent free.
But they need to raise funds to finance the editing.
Klare said: “We are hoping to raise around £12,000 to commission an editor to finish the film in 12 weeks.”
