We will never for­get them ... group plans cen­te­nary Re­mem­brance

A WEST Lan­cashire com­mu­nity group is hold­ing a Re­mem­brance Day show this Novem­ber to mark 100 years since the end of WWI.

Learn­ing Stars, made up of peo­ple with learn­ing dis­abil­i­ties, works in part­ner­ship with the Work­ers’ Ed­u­ca­tion As­so­ci­a­tion to host ac­tiv­i­ties and ed­u­ca­tion work­shops held four days per week in var­i­ous venues. The work­shops are art, choir, drama, gar­den­ing and dance as well as a drop-in cen­tre. The theme for all work­shops dur­ing 2017-18 has been re­mem­ber­ing WWI.

There will be a Re­mem­brance Day show on Novem­ber 8 at Chapel Gallery, St He­lens Road, Orm­skirk, from 1.30-4pm to show­case the work­shops, us­ing the theme of the WWI cen­te­nary. The event will en­com­pass all their ac­tiv­i­ties and a soldier who has been in com­bat will hold a ques­tion and an­swer ses­sion, fol­lowed by a minute’s si­lence.
