We will never forget them ... group plans centenary Remembrance
A WEST Lancashire community group is holding a Remembrance Day show this November to mark 100 years since the end of WWI.
Learning Stars, made up of people with learning disabilities, works in partnership with the Workers’ Education Association to host activities and education workshops held four days per week in various venues. The workshops are art, choir, drama, gardening and dance as well as a drop-in centre. The theme for all workshops during 2017-18 has been remembering WWI.
There will be a Remembrance Day show on November 8 at Chapel Gallery, St Helens Road, Ormskirk, from 1.30-4pm to showcase the workshops, using the theme of the WWI centenary. The event will encompass all their activities and a soldier who has been in combat will hold a question and answer session, followed by a minute’s silence.
