Celebrate Age UK’s big day with tea
AGE UK Lancashire is getting into the party spirit to celebrate national Older People’s Day.
The charity, based in the Wellbeing Centre on Moorgate in Ormskirk, is inviting local people to enjoy a special afternoon tea, musical entertainment and various activities to bring people together and enjoy themselves.
David Ward from Age UK Lancashire said: “Our Wellbeing Centre is such a great place to host special events and they are always well attended.
“We want to try and reach out to people who perhaps don’t get out much or aren’t aware of the support we offer.”
The event will be held on Monday, October 1 and will run from 2pm until 4pm.
Tickets will cost £2.50 and will include afternoon tea, refreshments and a raffle ticket.
Spaces are limited so booking is essential.

Mr Ward said: “We have also invited some local organisations who will be there to not only join in the celebrations but also provide information about social activities and groups people can access locally.
“We want everyone to not only have a great time but also go away with some really useful information and perhaps even start going to a new group or club.”
The charity recently received a donation from the Peter Latham Trust which has supported it over a number of years, enabling it to host special events and enhance the activities and visitor experience at the Wellbeing Centre.
Mr Ward said: “We hope to see lots of people come along to enjoy the music and food.
“Ormskirk is a great town with a real community feel and we hope this event will bring people together and help us celebrate.
“We do expect this event to be full so I would recommend contacting us to ensure you don’t miss out.”
