Join in rugby club’s colourful event

ORMSKIRK Rugby Club is inviting people to its annual Green & Blue Day at the weekend.

The event will take place at the club, on Green Lane, Ormskirk, on Saturday.

A spokesman said; “ORUFC welcomes back old players and members to the club for a day filled with rugby, beer, gin, anything else alcoholic (or none, if you prefer), friends and music.

“The club also opens its arms to welcome new members, the local community, local businesses and Edge Hill and introduce them to rugby at Ormskirk. We encourage members and local community to engage with our club and our events irrespective of age, gender, ability, race, religion and anything else you can think of.” Events include: 12 noon – bar opens. 1pm – current men’s 2XV vs Rest of World XV.

3pm – the mighty 1XV, on the back of an away win at previously unbeaten Wigan RUFC, kick off against promotion rivals Thornton Cleveleys.

6pm-late – live music and entertainment.

A Ladies’ XV raffle to win a Valentines trip for two to Prague will take place.
