Teen needed surgery after horror attack
ATEENAGER was left needing plastic surgery after being slashed in the face by muggers.
The victim, an 18-yearold male, was pushing his bike in Skelmersdale when he was assaulted and robbed.
The incident happened at around 10.15pm on Wednesday, on a path between Birleywood Health Centre and Christ the Servant Church.
He was approached by three men who slashed him across the face before stealing his bike and iPhone.
He was taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries, which police said will need plastic surgery.
Detectives are now appealing for information, with the robbers described as three men, aged about 18, wearing dark clothing and possibly balaclavas.
Detective Constable Andy Gill, of Skelmersdale Police, said: “This was a nasty assault which has left a young man with some serious injuries.
“I would appeal to anyone with information or who saw anything suspicious in the area to get in touch.”
