All change at the market
ORMSKIRK Market has undergone a redesign as council chiefs consider how best to react to the easing of the lockdown.
With increasing numbers of businesses making use of outdoor seating, the council has had to make changes to ensure there is enough space for all.
Stalls are now pitched back-to-back in the centre of the Aughton Street, allowing people to pass either side rather than group in the middle. Planters have also been moved to allow more room for passing pedestrians.
The market returned last month for the first time since March, initially operating on a significantly reduced capacity as council chiefs took a cautious approach in efforts to ensure social distancing was possible.
A council spokesman said: “It has been wonderful having the market back and welcoming shoppers back to the town centre.
“We are delighted to be able to support a safer shopping environment with our local traders and by making these changes provide an even better, and safer, visitor experience for you to visit.”
