Art with heart helps raise cash for Hub charity
RAINBOW Hub has set up a new art challenge on Facebook to encourage people to help raise funds for the Mawdesley based charity.
Like many other organisations, the group, which supports children and young people with physical and neurological disabilities, had to cancel all summer fundraising events and has been looking at different ways to raise the funds it needs to continue its services.
It has adapted to virtual services to help the youngsters continue the therapies that are critical to their general development and well-being.
Kat Nelson, fundraiser, said “The needs of the children and young people we support don’t go away because of the
Covid-19 pandemic. As we have no statutory funding we have to find other ways to raise the funds needed to continue our work.
“We have received some beautiful designs already and we are so very grateful to everyone who has helped us so far especially South Ribble Netball Club who have not only promoted the challenge on social media, but have encouraged their members to support the event.”
The netball club is running socially distanced training sessions on Mondays and Tuesdays at Balshaw’s High School. The ball cannot be passed but everyone can stay fit and be ready for when matches can start again.
Anyone interested can contact the club at southribblenetballclub@gmail. com
The latest challenge is for supporters to take part in the #rainbowhubart campaign. All they need to do is design a rainbow, share a photo of it on social media with the hashtag #rainbowhubart and nominate up to five others to do the same.
All pictures sent to Rainbow Hub will then be displayed in the “gallery”
Supporters can help by donating £5 by texting RAINBOWHUBART to 70490 (texts cost £5 plus one standard rate message).
