Wedding venue West Tower is placed on ‘best of’ list

-

A WEDDING venue in Lancashire has been ranked among other such venues in the country.

West Tower, in Aughton, was ranked 67th in a list of 113 venues by car dealership Brindley Group.

The list was compiled by scouring a selection of wedding destination databases, and supplementing findings with search data from Google to create the UK’s most popular venues.

They were then ranked each on factors that people consider when choosing a wedding destination such as Google rating, onsite accommodation, onsite parking, average maximum temperature in wedding season and average monthly rainfall in wedding season.

Assigning points based on each factor gave an overall score for each wedding venue out of 100 and produced a full ranking of venues from best to worst.

West Tower came 67th on the list. It was given an overall scare of 73 out of 100. It has a Google ranking of 4.7 along with onsite accommodation and parking.

Research also revealed that the average maximum temperature between May and October was 17.3 and the average monthly rainfall during the same period was 69.67mm.

The county house, on Mill Lane, was built circa 1875, by Edgar Musgrove, who purchased the land two years prior.

Many years later, West Tower was transformed from a grand family home to a boutique hotel and restaurant. It remained this way for around 15 years until 2010, when the property was bought by its current owner, Paul Bolton.

Since acquiring West Tower, Paul has a made numerous changes to the site, including the addition of more bedrooms and an extension to the ballroom, as well as multiple refurbishments. Paul closed the restaurant in 2012 to focus solely on weddings and private functions, transforming it into the awardwinning exclusive venue it is today.
