Sunday lunch hits the spot for diners at village pub

APUB in Burscough has been named as one of the top 50 in the country for Sunday lunch and brunch.

Diners have been raving about The Hop Vine on customer review platform Opentable, resulting in their ranking in the prestigiou­s list.

The 19th century free house pub is located in a prime location in the village a short drive from Ormskirk, near the LeedsLiver­pool canal, towpaths and wharf and has its own cobbled garden and brewery housed in the former stables.

The brunch menu boasts dishes ranging from full English to sandwiches and toasted teacakes and the Sunday roasts are also substantia­l and popular, with chicken, beef and pork to choose from .

The menu is also packed with pub classics such as grilled meat options, fish and chips, pies and burgers, while also offering lighter bites including soups, superfood salads and sandwiches, with a full gluten free and children’s menu, too.

A wide selection of cask ales, wines and spirits are also available behind the bar.

making it a dependable and reflective course for people looking for the best places to dine out.

Reviewers are asked to rate their experience in four different categories – food, service, ambience and value, with The Hop Vine scoring an overall 4.7 from 1,027 submission­s.

One recent reviewer said their visit to The Hop Vine was

“a fantastic experience. Great service and delicious food”.

Another, who enjoyed the Sunday lunch, wrote: “Can’t praise the Hop Vine enough, whether it’s a drink on an evening, Sunday afternoon food or to celebrate a special occasion Hop Vine has always made the grade and more.”

The writer added: “I took the plung an (sic) had the beef, oh wow it was absolutely beautiful, so lean, extremely tasty an sooo (sic) succulent. Roast potatoes were light , fluffy , buttery and golden and the veg was cooked just perfect, not too hard or soft. A generous pouring of rich gravy.”

The venue also has also received a five-star rating on Facebook and 4.5 rating on TripAdviso­r.
