Paisley Rugby Club fell to defeat at the weekend in their clash with Clydebank.

The Buddies made the short trip over the Erskine Bridge to Whitecrook as they aimed to continue their recent good form in the BT West Division Two.

However, it proved to be an afternoon of disappointment on the final clash to be played at the home of the Bankies.

Paisley had the opening chance of the match when they broke down the left early on, but some good defence from the hosts forced a knock-on before the Bank managed to clear their lines.

The game was delayed for 20 minutes as Buddies winger Aaron Graham was rushed to hospital with a suspected broken leg. However, he was later given the all-clear.

The hosts dealt with the delay better and they soon raced in two tries to compound the Paisley woes.

The Buddies managed to respond with a penalty, only for the Red and Blacks to respond with another try to take the score to 17-3 at half time.

Paisley made a spirited fight back in the second half as the home side appeared to take their foot off of the gas. They managed to cross the line for two tries, one of which was converted but they were still struggling to challenge the lead.

And their challenge was finally extinguished as Bank captain Ali Smart bagged a bonus point fourth try.

Elsewhere, second-placed Stewartry sealed another win, courtesy of a 23-17 victory away to table-topping Cambuslang.

And mid-table Lenzie sealed a solid victory over struggling Cumnock, with the home side sealing a 26-12 win.

BT West Division Two results: Lenzie RFC 26 Cumnock RFC 12, Clydebank RFC 22 Paisley RFC 15, Millbrae 22 Waysiders Drumpellier 25, Cambuslang RFC 17 Stewartry RFC 23.

Paisley are set to return home this weekend as the Buddies welcome rivals Waysiders Drumpellier to The Anchor.

In the only other league clash of the weekend, Millbrae will take on Cambuslang on home turf.

In the BT West Division Three, Bishopton beat the weather and Isle of Arran to record the perfect weekend.

They recorded a 29-14 win away from home as they bid to once again kick-start a struggling season.

BT West Division Three results: Strathaven RFC 23 Uddingston RFC 34, Wigtownshire RFC 7 Loch Lomond 26, Isle of Arran 14 Bishopton RFC 29, Birkmyre RFC 51 Moffat RFC 7.

Bishopton are without a game this weekend.
