Care boss accused of ‘sex attack’

-

A children’s home manager faces being struck off for an alleged sex attack on another woman.

Erika King is accused of an indecent assault which took place while she was employed in the Good Shepherd centre’s secure unit.

She is being hauled in front of a Scottish Social Services Council disciplinary panel and could be barred from working in the care sector.

A workplace tribunal charged her with targeting the victim — referred to only as ‘ZZ’ — due to her sexual orientation.

It alleges she straddled ZZ while she was lying face down on a bed and groped her buttocks above and beneath her underwear between June 1 and 30, 2010.

King will also be quizzed on whether she broke strict rules by leaving the Bishopton care home when a child – known only as ‘AA’ — ran off on October 8, 2013.

She has been accused of leaving without managerial cover and taking another youngster — referred to as ‘BB’ — to BB’s flat to find the absconder.

King is charged with breaking rules by travelling almost 12 miles from the unit while on call — the limit is just five — and putting staff and service users at risk.

King is expected to answer the allegations at a summit in Dundee on February 6 and 7.
