Choir sings out for new members
Calling all songbirds ... your community choir needs you.
SoundRoutes Singers is in the market for some new members.
The group was founded in 2009 by award-winning Scottish musician Shona Brown and has now grown to include seven groups, one of which is in Paisley.
SoundRoutes holds weekly rehearsals where adults of all ages are welcome, even those who think they can’t sing.
There are no auditions or requirements to read music as participants are taught by ear.
Sessions are fun, informal and a place for members to learn harmony singing, improve their voice, make new friends, raise money for charity and enjoy opportunities to record and perform.
The choir covers a variety of genres from pop, rock and folk to world and reggae songs and is seeking new members to join this new year.
The 2017 session has already started at Connect Church, 31 Broomlands Street, Paisley, and they run on Wednesdays, between 7.30pm and 9pm.
SoundRoutes aims for high musical standards, while keeping the choir fun and accessible to all.
No experience is necessary and there are no upfront fees. The cost per session is £5 and participants only have to pay as they attend.
