-

Dozens of jobseekers turned up to a careers evening hosted by Clark Contracts at it’s head office in Paisley.

More than 200 people looking for a traineeship or apprenticeship in the construction industry attended the event last week.

Visitors met with the company’s recruitment team and current employees to find out more about Clark Contracts and the opportunities to develop careers in construction through the company’s Academy system.

Representatives from Glasgow Caledonian University, the Construction Industry Training Board, West College Scotland, City of Glasgow College and Skills Development Scotland were also on hand to provide further advice.

Clark Contracts’ academy director David Cooper delivered presentations throughout the evening on the c o m p a n y ’s apprenticeship opportunities - including numerous examples of staff members who started as apprentices and have progressed into other management roles within the company.

He said: “As we had such a fantastic response to our first careers evening last year, we decided to make this an annual event.

“We have met some very talented, skilled and enthusiastic people at a variety of levels, who could be a valuable addition to the team here and we look forward to further discussions with them.”
