Everyone can sign up to this year’s race

-

Paisley is putting its best foot forward as it gears up for this year’s Race For Life.

People across Renfrewshire will join in the fight against cancer, taking part in the annual dash which raises funds for Cancer Research UK.

The charity is inviting women of all shapes and sizes to sign up to the 5k or 10k at Glasgow Green on Sunday, May 21.

And this year, men can take part too.

Cancer Research UK is introducing a new addition to its events calendar – Race for Life Family 5k – which is being piloted for the first time in Scotland.

While the women- only 5k and 10k Race for Life Glasgow both start at 9.30am, an hour later men, women and children will be able to take part together in the new Family 5k.

Money raised will help Cancer Research UK scientists find new ways to treat cancer and save more lives.

Every day, 88 people are diagnosed with cancer in Scotland.

One in two people in the UK will be diagnosed with cancer at some stage in their lives, but the good news is more people are surviving the disease now than ever before.

Last year, around 37,612 people took part in Race for Life in Scotland and raised almost £2.5 million.

This year, organisers are appealing for even more people to stride out to beat cancer sooner,
