Put an extra item in trolley for foodbank

-

The team at Renfrewshire Foodbank is holding another supermarker collection, when they are hoping for a fantastic response.

It takes place over two days – Friday and Saturday, April 21 and 22, from 9.30am to 5pm – at Tesco, in Linwood.

A recent collection at Renfrew’s Newmains Road Tesco store brought in the equivalent of 3,702 meals for the foodbank.

Renfrewshire Foodbank manager Elizabeth Alexander and her volunteers are always very grateful for any support.

Tins of potatoes, UHT milk, litre cartons of juice, tinned fruit, tinned custard, rice pudding, coffee, small boxes of tea, jam and tinned tomatoes are always needed.

Toiletries and household cleaning products are also good for the team to have.

Renfrewshire Foodbank is always on the lookout for donations and volunteers to help people make ends meet.

To get help, you need to have a valid foodbank voucher and there are four distribution centres across Renfrewhire.

These are in Paisley, at the Central Baptist Church,14 Lady Lane; Renfrew, at Renfrew Baptist Church,77 Paisley Road; Johnstone High Parish Church, Quarry Street,Johnstone, and Erskine Baptist Church,Park Hill, Park Mains, Erskine.

If you are struggling to put food on the table and need a foodbank voucher, phone 0141 889 7999 or email info@renfrewshire. foodbank.org.uk

Once you have been issued with a voucher, you can exchange this for a minimum of three days of emergency food at your nearest foodbank centre.
