Lunch serves up £12,000 for Quarriers

Top charity Quarriers got a £12,000 boost, thanks to ladies who lunch.

The money was gathered in at the Bridge of Weir-based charity’s Ladies’Lunch at which guest speaker Isobel Rutter entertaine­d in the Grand Ballroom in the Grand Central Hotel in Glasgow.

More than 180 guests were given an insight into the diverse and varied career of the popular comedian, actress and after-dinner speaker.

She had the audience in fits of laughter with her hilarious anecdotes about everyday situations that every woman could relate to.

Further entertainm­ent was supplied by vocal harmony group, The Jersey Tones, who got ladies on the dance floor, singing and dancing along to popular tunes.

Isobel Rutter said:“I thoroughly enjoyed attending Quarriers Ladies’Lunch and imparting some of my life learnings to an audience of so many wonderful women. I am proud to be part of a day which raises funds to ensure the charity can continue to support women reach their true potential.”

Alice Harper, Quarriers’chief executive, said: “Now in its third year, our Ladies’Lunch is a staple in the Quarriers’social calendar as it focuses on celebratin­g women.

“Once again, we are astounded by the generosity of our guests and we would like to thank them for attending and raising so much on the day. Quarriers can make a real and lasting difference with their support.”
