Farmers’ market hits town

Foodies can pick up the best fresh produce when Ayrshire Farmers’ Market hits the road for Renfrewshire on Saturday.

The market comes to the car aprk at the Fox and Hounds, Houston, on the last Saturday of every month.

You can browse local meat, fish, home baking, vegetables, cheese, eggs, chocolate, honey, home- made soups and confectionery.

Stallholders are from the farming families that are members of the Ayrshire Farmers’ Market Cooperative.

Seasonal producers join the core suppliers and stalls for community groups, craft and Fair Trade produce are also occasionally seen.

Following dates include July, 29 and August, 26.

The free event runs from noon until 6pm.
