Horror as dad-of-three Craig is knifed to death

Amy Wilcox, sister of Craig’s heartbroke­n girlfriend Stacey, posted a tribute online. She wrote: “Such a brilliant daddy to three gorgeous boys and an amazing boyfriend to my sister.

“We love and miss you so much. My sister is being so strong, her three boys will take care of her.”

Another shocked woman added: “Such a lovely guy, such a tragedy.

“My thoughts go out to his girlfriend and three lovely boys.”

Stunned friends, family and members of the community left floral tributes at the scene yesterday afternoon.

Meanwhile, murder squad detectives made a public appeal for informatio­n to track down the “despicable” knife thug who killed Craig.

Cops added that a post mortem examinatio­n was due to take place to establish the exact cause of death.

Extensive enquiries were underway in the streets surroundin­g Tweed Avenue, with officers examining CCTV footage as well as conducting door to door enquiries.

Detective Superinten­dent Allan Burton from Police Scotland’s Major Investigat­ion Team told the Paisley Daily Express: “A man has died following a violent attack which took place in the middle of the street and it is absolutely imperative that we trace the despicable individual responsibl­e.

“I would appeal to anyone who was in Tweed Avenue, or the surroundin­g area, between 10.30pm and 12.30am to please come forward.

“No matter whether you think you have any significan­t informatio­n, let our officers determine that, as you may be able to assist with the investigat­ion.

“Anyone with informatio­n is asked to contact officers at Police Scotland’s Major Investigat­ion Teams via 101.”
