Oslanski is lucky 13th signing

He’s Tripp’s kind of player

John Tripp has set his sights on experience after penning Braehead Clan’s 13th summer signing.

The Braehead side confirmed the signing of defenceman, Landon Oslanski yesterday morning, with the Canadian joining the team for the 2017/18 season.

The 25-year-old moves to Europe for the first time on the back of the last campaign, which was split between playing for Wichita Thunder and Toledo Walleye.

Tripp revealed that he is delighted to have landed his man having watched him gain experience in the North American ECHL leagues, believing that his spell there will stand him in good stead ahead of his switch to Scotland.

Tripp said: “Landon is a player who knows all about his responsibilities in and around the defence zone.

“He has plenty of experience from different teams in the ECHL and I think what he brings from there will be a big asset for us this season.

“The reports we’ve had about Landon show him to be a great competitor, a physical presence and the sort of guy teammates can lean on.”

Oslanski enjoyed a busy season last year, racking up 82 appearances over the course of his stints with the Thunder and Walleye. He totalled five goals and give assists throughout the year.

Before moving to Toledo, Oslanski featured for Alaska Aces alongside fellow new Clan man, Jacob Doty. The two will be reunited at Braehead Arena this season as Tripp’s squad starts to shape up.

He has also turned out for Missouri Mavericks, Rapid City Rush and Stockton Thunder over the course of a career that has taken him across America.

He joins Doty, Ryan Nie, Cameron Burt, Zach Sullivan, Josh Grieveson, Brendan Brooks, Matt Haywood, Gary Russell, Mike Embach, Jordan Buesa, Bari McKenzie and Craig Peacock in the team for next season.

And coach Tripp reckons that the Clan supporters will be pleased with what they see from their new signing once the action gets started.

Tripp added: “It’s the kind of player I want at this team who can deliver night in and night out and someone I think the fans will really take to next season.”
