Chance to see opera atThe Piazza

-

Paisley shoppers will be treated to a free opera performance in the Piazza Shopping Centre on Saturday afternoon.

Members of Paisley Opera will be performing Proms In The Piazza from 3.30pm till 4.30pm.

The performance will feature a selection of chorus, arias and ensembles and shoppers are invited to pay what they think it’s worth.

Maureen Hill, Centre Manager of The Piazza, said: “We are delighted to be working in partnership with Paisley Opera to showcase Proms At The Piazza.

“The event is designed to bring opera int o unsuspecting places and we feel The Piazza is the perfect place for the local group to perform and capture the imaginations of our shoppers.”

The opera group, which prides itself on its ‘passion, not posh’ attitude, was formed in December 2015 and has since grown from strength to strength.

Head of the group, Simon Hannigan, said: “We are thrilled to be performing at the Piazza this weekend and would like to encourage the public to attend and get involved.

“The chorus is always looking for new members and we want to show that opera is great fun.”

Next up for Paisley Opera is a Witches of Paisley project which will be performed in December.
