Young musician Hollie Robinson has picked up a £1,000 prize after winning a Paisley’s Got Talent competitio­n.

Heats for the contest, which was arranged by business group Paisley First, have been taking place in the town centre over the past few weekends.

The 12 acts in the grand final on Saturday were: singer Nadia Allan, 19; singer Olivia McDonald, 15; singer Sasha Kaloheris, 13; singing/keyboard sisters Laura and Claire Murray, aged 20 and 16; singer/guitarist Adam Dolan, 14; singer Emma McConnachi­e, nine; singer/guitarist Emily Punton,15; singer/guitarist/keybord Archie Collingrid­ge-Watt, 13; singer Ruby Langfield, 11; singer/guitarist Matt Fotheringh­am, 38; guitarist Emily Irving, 15, and overall winner Hollie, who is 13 and sings and plays guitar.

Hollie sang an original song, also played a guitar piece called The Radio and belted out her version of I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing by Aerosmith.

She proudly walked away with the PGT 2017 trophy, as well as her cash prize.

A Paisley First spokeswoma­n said: “The final of the competitio­n was a fantastic day, showcasing an array of local talent aged from nine to 38.

“The competitio­n has been very popular and has proven to be a highly successful addition to our Summer Festival of Fun event, which has been running throughout the summer.

“It has provided an opportunit­y to showcase the huge talent we have here in our town and create a sense of community spirit and engagement.

“This is the first year we have run this competitio­n, and hopefully we can make it an annual event.

“We would like to congratula­te everyone who took part in all the heats, the final and Hollie, our first Paisley’s Got Talent Winner.”
