Hosted by experts in the field, these talks provide an interesting insight into various natural history topics, and there’s plenty coming up over the next few months.
On Thursday September 7 is ‘Dragonflies of Central Scotland’, presented by Daniele Muir Scotland officer of the British Dragonfly Society.
Come along to find out which species can be found locally, what the British Dragonfly Society is doing to help conserve these species and how you can get involved.
On Thursday October 5 is‘Foraging Ecology and Movement of Herring Gulls’, it’s presented by Dr. Ruedi Nager from the University of Glasgow.
Look at the foraging decisions of Herring Gulls along the Scottish Southwest coast and its implications for their breeding success.
On Thursday, November 2, check out‘Froglife’s Scottish Dragon Finders Project’, presented by Doctor Victoria Larcombe, project manager of Scotland’s Dragon Finder Project.
Funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund, the project was designed to reach out to people across Scotland and encourage them to get involved in reptile and amphibian conservation.
The talks, which are open to everyone (and there’s no need to book) run from 7.30pm to 9pm.
