Clan fall to Bison’s goal stampede

- Braehead Clan ...... 1 Bisons ................... 7

Braehead Clan fell in their final preseason preparation prior to the weekend clashes with Manchester Storm.

Coach John Tripp used the clash to experiment with a number of different combinations as he experimented with his squad, but it wasn’t to be on a night that saw the visitors end their UK tour with three wins from four.

Clan truggled to test Byrone Spriggs in goal as the visitors held firm.

And the defence was eventually rewarded at the other end of the ice as Jonah Walysak robbed goalie Gary Russell of the puck to tuck into the empty net to hand the visitors the lead.

Tripp’s men tried to hit back immediately as Landon Oslanski teed up Brendan Brooks but found Spriggs was on hand to make the save

And Bisons soon struck again as Zach Franko squeezed home at Russell’s near post to double the lead. Manitoba soon made it three shortly after when Adam Henry slotted a rebound in after Remi Laurencelle was blocked by Russell.

They would end the period 4-0 to the good as Nick Zajac finished from close range. Clan eventually got on the scoresheet as Craig Peacock finished off his own rebound after being denied by Spriggs initially.

But they failed to get themselves back in the tie as Michael St Croix made it 6-1, before Shawn Bowles rounded off a good night for the Canadian side.
