Archie’s bee-utiful garden is a winner for new homes
A dream garden designed by a young Renfrewshire pupil will soon be in full bloom.
Green-fingered Archie Hopley, of Kilbarchan Primary, will see his plan come to life thanks to David Wilson Homes.
The youngster won a competition run by the building company to design the outside of one of its show homes.
Archie’s creation was selected by a panel of judges for it’s impressive bee and bird-friendly garden.
The design will become reality thanks to experts at the Weirs Wynd development in Brookfield.
Estelle Sykes, sales director for the company, said: “The winning designs really captured the essence of the community we are building at Weirs Wynd – with room for all of the family to enjoy the garden space.
“We asked the pupils to make sure their designs were bee and bird friendly, and we saw lots of birdhouses, bee-friendly planting and colourful shrubs, which I’m sure will be stunning when brought to life.”
Archie’s design had plenty of space to play and relax and also included a number of areas to grow strawberries, lavender, sunflowers as well as an edible food and herb patch.
The two show homes due to launch in the coming months are The Strathmore and The Balbardie.
Both homes are spacious, fourbedroom homes with detached garages and expansive rear gardens.
