Paisley inspired Tennant’s new role

-

Paisley’s David Tennant has lent his experience of growing up in the town to a “terrifying” computer game dubbed Nazi Zombies.

The star actor is one of the vocal stars of Sledgehammer Games’ release ‘Call Of Duty: WWII’.

The main game is set in the Second World War, but the ‘Zombies’ game mode is set in an alternate history with its own storyline.

It sees Allied Forces battling a zombie army created by the Third Reich.

The former Paisley Grammar School pupil spoke about the role as Professor Drostan Hynd during the recent San Diego Comic Con, according to fan website david-tennant.com.

David said: “He has a tartan cap ... because I’m Scottish.

“He swears a lot, an awful lot. It’s full of bad language, this game, I’m terribly shocked.”

David, who is a son of the manse, said he was invited to bring an authentic Scottish feel, so brought some of his experience of growing up in Paisley and launched into “a little bit of improvisational cursing”.

The fan website says the new game’s developers describe it as more gruesome and terrifying than ever before.

Professor Drostan Hynd is an antiquities expert and former art thief who gets the chance to come out of prison on the understanding that he’ll work for the forces of law and order.

The computer game, which was released yesterday, sees players embark on a mysterious journey through a snowy Bavarian village in Mittelburg, Germany.

They attempt to recover priceless works of art stolen by the Axis powers during the Second World War.

But the village holds a shadowy secret key to a monstrous power.
