Brooks won’t mess around

-

Braehead Clan stalwart Brendan Brooks insists revenge is on the cards when they take on arch-rivals the Fife Flyers this weekend.

Clan are in action in Kirkcaldy before welcoming Todd Dutiame’s Flyers back to Braehead Arena on Sunday night.

Great Britain international Brooks played for the Flyers last season, but made the move back across the M8 to Renfrew following a short spell away from John Tripp’s side.

Flyers have come out on top in all three meetings of the sides this season, hitting a 7-1 win the last time they faced off in Renfrewshire.

They have backed that up with recent 5-1 and 5-2 wins in Kirkcaldy.

However, Brooks reckons this weekend could be massive for the side’s hopes for the remainder of the season.

He said:“The last game at Braehead against the Flyers wasn’t the way it was supposed to go.

“Anything that could go wrong, went wrong that day.

“This weekend is a very pivotal period in the club’s season, not only in the league, but as we look to retain our Gardiner Conference title.

“It’s time for the whole team to be positive and work together to put on a performance for the Purple Army who have stuck by us.

“We’re not going to be messing around. We’re out to win.”
